Since its founding in 2005, FamilyWize has been committed to improving the quality of life for people, regardless of their economic status, age, race, religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation. We stand with the Black community and believe we need to take meaningful actions to address the discrimination and systemic racism that the Black community continues to face today. We feel this is an issue that demands our commitment to a sustainable effort, with appropriate consideration of the most meaningful ways we can make a difference with lasting impact. After a period of reflection, we have formed a committee of employees focused on developing a far-reaching and comprehensive plan to create sustainable change, both within our company and in the local communities we support.
As an initial step, FamilyWize has made a donation to the Greater Twin Cities United Way Rebuild for the Future Fund. This fund was established to support businesses owned by Black, indigenous and other people of color that were damaged or lost in the aftermath of the George Floyd murder. FamilyWize will continue to provide support in local communities to promote equality and opportunity and help create sustainable systemic change and we will have further updates on our actions in the months ahead.
