Jones and Morrill: United Way stands for you
Jones is 2015 United Way of Roanoke Valley Board chairman and Morrill is 2015 United Way of Roanoke Valley Board vice chairman and campaign chair.
As we send this year’s bunch of bright-eyed kindergarteners to their first day of school, one can’t help but wonder what will come of the next 12 years for these children. There’s no doubt that among these are future physicians, attorneys, businesswomen and the like, but what about the kids who struggle to read by third grade? What will happen to the child who doesn’t have a safe place to go after school? Who will stand for these children and prepare them for college or career?
